However, his career has not gone as he wished, I think he would be the first to admit that. He's playing for a Premiership team. What a dull statement ! He is AT a Premiership team, but up to yesterday he had played a sum total of NO MINUTES all season There are many squad players at the 20 Prem teams...but many of them will never break into their first 11, let alone become a household name ! Are you seriously saying that Sam said "ah...my ambition is to be at a massive club...like Brighton.....and occasionally get on the bench there" ?! Hardly ! Surely he set out to become an established Prem player. But I cannot ever seeing that happen. Please engage brain, ReturnofMoo, if you are going to try and chip in with a "funny" comment... I see I have hit a nerve. Hasn't he been injured (unfortunately a common occurrence for Sam)? I understand Sam said that he would only count as the main striker at a top 6 club and an England call up as a success. He would have stayed with us if he had known. http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/1582018 ... ugh_times/ Also he played the best part of 90mins in the FA Cup game as he came on as a sub for Brown after 6mins. So the claim he has played 0 minutes until this week is also wrong. |

I was referring to 0 minutes in the Premiership, as the Prem was the thrust of the conversation I also made the point about him being a premiership player. Whether you call it being a premiership player or AT a premiership club, the main point is he is playing at a much higher level than us, and his wages will be at that level too. He's out of our league. |

It looks like he is happy there. 'As soon as the club made noises that they wanted to extend my contract it was always in my head that this is where I want to be,' Baldock told the club's official website. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... z54AnbHBBT |
