John Eustace didn't want the job, which speaks volumes. If a assistant at a Championship club turned it down after being interviewed, doubt if manager at L.1 club would be keen. Would think that QPR are a bit like us, dark horses for the play-offs, but by no means one of the favourites for promotion. Doubt if QPR are throwing money around to keep him either.

Judging by the size of Swansea's squad and the transfer activity, think they'll be joining Derby around the bottom of the table.

Hi Guys,

Swansea fan in peace here. John Eustace he did not turn down the job for footballing reasons they were private. As you know Swansea have a recent history of playing good passing football and Russell Martin would be given the time to build something here if he can implement his style. Style of play is the most important thing amongst our fans. Steve Cooper just finished 6th and then 4th but is unloved by our fans and most were glad to see him go.

I saw someone ask why go to Swansea. 3 years ago we appointed Graham Potter, his Swansea team played good stylish football and they finished an unremarkable 10th in the league. He was picked up by Brighton in the premier league and is still there.. If you want to look further back the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez launched successful careers at Swansea. If Martin could do something similar he will be a premier league manager. It’s a very good job.

By the way the Telegraph have just reported he is the front runner for the job and he is odds on with sky bet.

Sam Wallace, writer for the Telegraph has said RM is now front runner for the Swansea job.

Looking even more likely that he's gone. Awful, awful timing.

Also, RM has a fairly unique style of football. Replacing him at such short notice, giving very little time for a new manager to implement his style. Start of the season is going to be very interesting.

Wonder if the boys are in training? Been no insight or mention of training in a fair few days. Where's the usual clips and montages?

Yep. Down at Woughton this afternoon.

Had some errands to run down MK1 at lunchtime and saw all of the players and coaching staff heading out as I trapsed over to M&S. Including he with the lovely hair. :D

Would be nice of the club to be forthcoming with that information. They can be a bit useless in these circumstances going deafly silent, in the past that means there's usually an element of truth to the departure but hopefully not this time.

Good to hear Russ is still with the squad though!
