Just watched Robbies presser on ifollow, he says Chuks is training and is in contention for some play against Bury, also more game time v Stevenage in the checkacrowd trophy next week.

So not the doom and gloom rumoured

It is not at all uncommon for players who have suffered a long injury layoff to fail to regain their previous level of ability. I hope he is not one of them.

After his cameo against Bury, I don't see this being a problem.

I heard in some interview Robbie say that "Cup games become more important as you progress" and that "Chuks Aneke will start against Stevenage." I suppose the idea is to get a good lead first then rest Aneke which makes sense.

Edited to add that that I didn't hear it, I read it in a Citizen article after Toby Lock interviewed Robbie.

Personally hope he doesn't play too long, would rather he played in the Bradford game, Stevenage also used to have a reputation for being a bit physical so last thing we want is for him to get crocked.

Agreed. So all Chuks has to do is help us get a quick 3 goal lead and he could be subbed well before HT. :)

Think it's harsh to judge him against Reeves so soon, Reeves had 4 seasons with us, Aneke has had 2/3 of a season (we all knew he wouldn't come back till October/November before they pushed it back further)

Think I'd still take Chuks in 26% of matches versus Reeves in 57%.
