SEPTEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH
This has only been collated over the last three games, as you are aware the previous data has been lost.

3rd Osman Sow
Late on the scene for the Dons, as one the final pieces in the jigsaw for the gaffer, and a relationship renewed as he formerly played for Hearts before plying his trade in the China League.

Much rests on the tall shoulders of Sow, but he has quickly become popular with the Dons faithful, and has slowly but surely regained the match fitness needed, I’d hope that he can really kick on now.

Strong on the ball, fast, and capable of holding up play to bring the midfield in, and already past the lofty total acquired by Maynard last season.

2nd George Williams
Of late he has slotted into the role of makeshift centre half, rather than his preferred position of full back, and he’s also taken on the role of skipper with Lewington sat firmly on the bench after being deposed by Golbourne.

Last season’s POTY by his standards possibly didn’t have the best start to the season, but although not the best game in the world, William’s was head and shoulders the best player in the Cobblers match and received over 90% of the vote for that game.

1st Lee Nicholls
Since the departure of David Martin, Nicholls has had some big boots to fill, and there can’t be many people left that don’t rate Nicholls highly, he’s certainly won over many staunch supporters of the former No 1, he has made the shirt his own, and off the top of my head I can’t recall a single goal conceded you could blame on him.

He has made some great saves, to keep the score respectable, keep us in the game, or secure a clean sheet, and on that note, that’s three in a row for Lee and the 6th this season.

He has certainly settled down well now, is confident, commanding, and a superb shot stopper, and the bulk of his votes this month came from the AFC game where he put in a faultless display, including a penalty save that could have easily have let them back into the game.

This is the 2nd month in a row Nicholls has been Player of the Month, and already is an early candidate for Player of the Season.

Thanks WD.

Just remember, if two players tie for first place, don't make the next player second. He would be third. That's something that your predecessor didn't grasp.
