The APL Prediction League Results & Review Shrewsbury Town
Well I can’t say we played well, but equally I didn’t think we were bad, and in the very least we didn’t have the wildly differing game of two halves scenario.

I was surprised with Shrewsbury, for a team with a pretty good record this season, and the amount of possession they had, 60%, according to the BBC website, they were largely ineffective, so I guess we must applaud the back four who dealt with the Shrewsbury attack comfortably.

Nothing could be done about the goal, you can’t deny it was a belter, and if I’m honest I think a draw was just about the right result.

Can’t really think of any negatives unless you include my pet hate of bringing every single player back to defend a corner......if we stick men on the half way line they will have to cover them, just like Posh did to us keeping three forwards up, net result we had to pull our main threat at corners to cover them.

On the plus side, Chuks continues to be a beast and I think gets better every game, he must be a nightmare to defend against. Good to see Sow back, and its going to be a few weeks before we see the best of him, but saving the best till last, I thought Sam Nombe was superb, he may possibly have done better on a couple of occasions, but overall, he was excellent, hopefully he will build on that.

So not much to report really after Meltdown Monday, you either bought what Winkie said or not, and I think its best left at that really.

So, in the absence of anything of note to talk about, lets look at the APL this week.

46 predictions this week, so well-done folks, keep those predictions rolling in, and out of the 46 just 8 got amongst the points, with nobody hitting it on the head this week, with the best result coming for Steelback Don who was the only one to predict Pawlett to get the opener, thankfully for the Dons he got the result wrong as he predicted a 2-1 defeat.

A few notable league climbers to point out, BertieWoostersDonsClub continues his march up the table with another 5 points predicting the correct score, along with 4 others, one of those being Oldbloke who only started predicting a few weeks ago and already is climbing the table with 29 points.

Camdenite creeps closer to Southstander who this week failed to score.

There were 39 points scored in this game.

Thanks for playing, the Scunny thread will be out tomorrow morning.
