Just about half way through the season and just above the relegation zone. If that isn't proof positive that we're in a relegation battle then I don't know what is.

Relegation battles are much more exciting than mid-table mediocrity, BTW. :)

would you be comfortable with being renamed Red Bull:MK or whatever? With their sponsor on every kit? The Red Bull arena? Basically being a by product for a company, a way to be one big product placement??

Closing off MK Dons??

Sponsors are already on the kit and the club was looking at naming the stadium but couldn't find a sponsor. In regards to the club name, Pete has said that a majority of the fans would have to agree to it and I would go along with that. The final point of being a product placement I have no problem with if it benefits the club.

Milton Keynes' own Stewart Grand Prix went on to do exceptionally well under Red Bull ownership, winning both F1 titles within 5 years of them taking control, whereas under Ford ownership (Jaguar branded) they had underperformed:
1997-1999 Stewart Grand Prix: 1 race win + 3 podiums.
2000-2004 Jaguar Racing F1 Team: 2 podiums.
2005-2017 Red Bull Racing: 55 race wins to date + 4 Constructors Championships + 4 Drivers Championships.

In 2018, Red Bull Racing will be competing as Aston Martin Red Bull Racing.
Evidently the coolest automotive brand in the world, doesn't think that having their brand alongside the Red Bull brand is a bad thing...

It would be quite cool to have Stadium Aston Martin Red Bull. :D

You may scoff but why haven't we given out the naming rights to the ground and/or stands? I don't know how much we could get but it is an avenue we could go down. Case Security stadium or the Robinson Garden Services away stand.

We must be one of the few who don't have our stands sponsored at least

Is that what KR is going to do after he gets sacked by Charlton?

Past the halfway point and 2 points off relegation, I think it's safe to say with our form and record of 7 wins in 26 games, we're in the mix.

Indeed.

However, if by some miracle we're up in 13th after beating AFC & Cobblers in the next two games, will we be in a relegation battle then?

If so, the entire lower half of the table is in a relegation battle atm :)

But you can't take our poor form in isolation and ignore the form of other clubs above & below us in the table.
Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Walsall, Southend & Charlton have all averaged even worse form than us.
Even mid table clubs like Blackpool & Bristol R have only got one more point than us over the past 5 games:

So, over the last 5 games, the current bottom half clubs have secured the following number of points:

13. Blackpool: 5pts - still 13th
14. Bristol R: 5pts - were 15th
15. Gillingham: 11pts - were 21st...
16. Plymouth: 11pts - were 22nd...
17. Southend: 3pts - were 12th...
18. Walsall: 2pts - were 11th...
19. MK Dons: 4pts - were 17th
20. Oldham: 2pts - were 16th...
-----------------------------------------
21. AFC: 7pts - were 20th
22. Cobblers: 4pts - were 23rd
23. Rochdale: 2pts - were 19th...
24. Bury: 0pts - still 24th

Gillingham & Plymouth averaged an automatic-promotion-like 2.2pts per game over the past 5 games, to climb out of the relegation zone.
AFC averaged a solid upper mid-table-like 1.4 pts per game.
MK Dons & Cobblers averaged a relegation-struggle-like 0.8 pts per game.
Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Walsall & Southend averaged an even worse automatic-relegation-like 0 to 0.6pts per game.

If things continued on like that, Oldham & Walsall would drop into the relegation zone to join Rochdale & Bury, with Cobblers & Southend below us.
But whatever happens, the AFC and Cobblers games are crucial 6 pointers for us.

On a brighter note, Charlton have won just 2 points from their past 5 games, with the natives getting restless as they slide further away from the playoff spots...

COYD!

That does not make for good reading but one of the reasons we love football is because of the unpredictability of it all. It isn't an exact science no matter how egg shaped the scientist's head is.

Scary gap though between the chances of the bottom 4 going down and 20th/21st in the league in this table.
