There had been some moans on TCR before its sudden closure, about how it's just not the same watching the Dons anymore etc. etc.
As asked previously, I wonder if they'd considered the possibility that they just might be very different today, to who they were some years ago?

Things constantly change.
The players constantly change, and sometimes more changes than usual are required.
The managers change over the years, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly, and sometimes a bigger change than usual is required.
The fans constantly change over the years, some more significantly than others - a teenager at the NHS in 2003 is in their mid 20s-30s now, maybe with kids of their own & a very different perspective on life & very different priorities today...

What doesn't change, is there are 11 players wearing the shirt that need our support every game.

Nice post.

If we take a step back and view what has happened since 2004, I think most of us would say the "peak" of being a Dons fan was in those 3 or 4 years around (and including) our Championship promotion season...we had a settled manager, settled players, and some amazing experiences (Man Utd, growing rivalry with Posh, playing AFC for the first time etc), the emergence of Dele etc etc I say "peak" as things were very exciting for Dons, both the clubs and fans, at that time.

I think also we would all agree that the past year and a half (since relegation from the Championship) has been a tough time, again for the club and the fans. New manager, a major change in the players, attendances down ("plastics" not committed) etc etc

But surely the good times will come again, and I for one am feeling more optimistic now - I sense the team is starting to gel, and feel we are on the verge of an upturn, which was galvanised by winning at AFC on Friday. Certainly hoping for this momentum to continue this evening in a local derby which will hopefully "mean" something to our players.

I am one of those who feel it is “not the same” and I’m talking compared to pre-2014 so not too long ago. I’m 30 now and aside from a bit less hair, nothing is different with me compared to when I was 25/26/27.

Guess thats a tragedy in itself.
