GoFundMe doesn't allow gift aid - it's viewed as a personal gift platform and not for charity. In fact, I don't think any crowdfunding platforms allow gift aid if it is for 'crowdfunding' like this one - its only for charities or individuals raising money for charities.
Not sure if it will get that much attention to get it close to or over £1,000 in all honesty. GoFundMe charge per donation for their platform too (think it's around 8%).
It's a pretty first world cause, and more a gesture of goodwill than legitimately helping Hyde, they are fairly financially sound.
