Just sat here bemoaning another disappointing result on the back of many others and trying to identify what the hell has gone wrong.

It came to me that for a number of seasons we buy players who are not always fit enough to play straightaway, so not in any particular order.

Pawlett
Sow
McGrandles
Aneke
Walsh
Muirhead
Nesbitt (Apparently not strong enough)
Reeves
JET (Totally unfit)

There are probably others, so is it any wonder we are not a settled team some of the above have played then had to be rested for one reason or another which almost certainly has not helped the team this season.

So whose to blame or is it financial pressures.

Is it the recruitment side of the club trying to do business on the cheap.

Clearly it is not going to change as this has been going on for a while but this season in particular it is not helping the manager at all.

Looking forward to January when no doubt some more will come through the door. At least the medical team will be kept busy

Jet was the fittest of all the Gladiators.

Could have a point here.

But the flip side would be that we might have got them for a more affordable price because of their injury at the time.

But yeah, so many times over the last 2-3 seasons we've bought players that are carrying existing injuries and that aren't available straight away in most cases. Maybe that's a reason for the so called lack of "gelling". Maybe going forward we should only buy/loan fully fit players?

You have a point there.

Working in local housing, like I do, we have to go on various courses each year. This year one of them was on how to lift and carry things without hurting yourself. Hosted by a spectacularly supple and beautiful woman.

Funnily enough it was the only course we didn't complain about having to go on.

Another interesting stat (at least I think it is) is that the average squad age of the top 6 teams is 25 years old (bar Bradford who are just under at 24.6). Our average is 23.8 years and we have dropped to 8th in squad value after Tshibola's sudden departure. Are we too inexperienced & immature for this league?
