Neither is getting to the final of this shit excuse of a cup.

It's each to their own, and I know many share that view, but I personally want us to be successful at any competition we enter. OK, the Football League Trophy (in its many guises, not just Checkatrade) is a small competition, but that's the very reason why we have a chance of winning it! If we had a choice of winning the CL, Europa League, FA Cup, etc, then the Football League Trophy would be very low on the list. But we don't have that choice. Our only hopes of success each season is promotion and winning the Football League Trophy (and a "run" in the FA and League cups). I personally don't think the only cup we can realistically win, or a day out at Wembley, is "beneath" us, and I really hope we take the games serious.

This. We took it seriously enough in 2008. Silverware. History.

As an aside, we all remember Drewe’s legendary winning penalty in the semi, but who remembers Drissa’s penalty into the top corner which won an earlier round that season?

Yes
Yes
No.
Great day out it was. I'd go again.

Might get some bums on seats for Chelsea, maybe the dizzy heights of 2,000.

Club's twitter account says it will be on Wednesday 6th. 7:45pm.

£5 for adults, £1 for U18s.

No, same competition just under one of its many changes. If you read it's history it's been the Associate Members Cup, Football League Trophy, now the EFL Trophy; it's had about 9 different sponsors so many name changes. It's had changes in format - sometimes groups, sometimes knockout all the way. It's had invited non-league clubs joining in (in same way as current invited U-23 teams.) It's had fines for teams in the past for picking weakened teams (just like now). You might not like the current set of changes, but you can't say it's a different competition when it's whole existence has been one of regular changes in format. This is just its latest incarnation.

Ignore Alby, he's a bit Mary Whitehouse when it comes to the Checkatrade.

We must crush them. Like a tank running over a dog. Or running over anything really.

Gillingham away wasn’t it? Also memorable because the aforementioned Drewe had a great game and looked like a striker at times.

Myself and most other football fans. Don’t do it just to stick it to the man. I don’t like the competition because it’s a shit competition worth fuck all and absolutely irrelevant prize money
