karl claims he wanted him on loan and bobby didn’t. not sure how bobby would have had the seniority to overrule him to be honest, but there you go. http://www.football.london/championship ... s-13895384 |

He won't let it lie (I assume it's because we are playing them Saturday). One good recruitment has been Chuks, so salute Bobby. |

To be fair we also wanted to sign Loftus-Cheek and Dom Solanke on loan. Didn’t get finalised. With Harry Winks, my understanding from a Tottenham fan is that their manager doesn’t really want to lob players out any way before they’ve been given a good go. He’s told me not many of their youngsters have gone in season long loans or whatever since he took over as he’d prefer to develop them there. Only exception seems to be a goalkeeper or Josh Onomah who isn’t going to make the grade there apparently. |

That’s Robbo being his usual slimy wind up merchant. To be fair to Tottenham, for one of the bigger clubs, they do at least give their youth a chance and that’s paid off in spades for them, they don’t have to go out and sign players for 90/100 million pounds plus, they produce their own or as in Dele’s case find young gifted players and develop them. The other top sides in the Premier league don’t seem to have the patience to develop players, it’s easier to splash the cash on a ready made player |

Looking at their squad, the only ones to come solely from their academy are Kane and Winks. Any other youngsters, English or foreign, have been signed from elsewhere where they'd already been first teamers. And they do spend money and mostly on foreigners - wasted almost £50m on 2 failed squad player last season, Sissoko and Janssen. And signed all foreigners this summer as well - Sanchez, Aurier, Llorente. Pocchetino's a good manager and improves players but he's given no more opportunities to Academy products than Mourinho's United (for Kane and Winks read Rashford and Lingard). End of irrelevant rant. They spent £5m on some young kid and gave him an opportunity. |

That demonstrates his point. To an extent, but they still gave a very young player an opportunity. Many other premiership sides buy young players and loan them out, whether bought or home grown, Spurs (or maybe just Pochettino) give youngsters opportunities. I really hope Dele stays there with him. |
