THE CONCRETE ROUNDABOUT (TCR)

I read in an interview Winkie gave last November where he said something like he would never forgive himself or it would hang over his head for a long time if he got the managerial appointment wrong. Maybe he's just saving face by not acting.

Think most fans know enough of Winkie as a person to know he's likely not very happy at all with results or our style of football a
t the moment. We've seen how passionate he is and also how honest he has been to fans at games, calling results "shit" etc. In fact, I think Winkie is like a lot of us and doesn't promote spin or try and make a turd look shiny.

I'm not one to call for a managers head. But as Gers said, it's an entertainment business and for the most part I have spent the last three seasons bored shitless. And this current one is the worst of the lot.

A team filled with good players, but one that's apparently devoid of passion, attacking intent and any obvious tactical approach to a game beyond lets keep it tight until we give away a sloppy goal or two, and then try to have a go.

I might have a fiver on Hyde on Friday.

You should maybe find a different sport to support, because your expectations of football are never going to be matched by any club.

I might have exaggerated slightly. I don't expect brilliant performances every week, i don't expect great entertainment every week, but the killer is I no longer even hope for it. The die hards, and I count myself as one, will mostly put up with it, but not many others will.

You are right. Sod it. I'm taking up bee keeping and macrame.
