We need a good big 'un, Wootton or EEL and a fast one Williams or Walsh or a big 'un with fast ones each side of him.

We got rid of a perfectly good c/b in Paul Downing, who wasn’t really given enough chances under KR and was expected to play out from the back which got him into trouble. He seems to be doing ok with Blackburn- who have had 3 clean sheets with Downing starting. The Blackburn fans love him.

Oh for God's sake. Downing was terrible for us. I'm sick and tired of blaming everything that's bad on Robbo. Downing didn't play well? That's all because Robbo always wanted him to play out from the back. Um, no. Downing was shit because he's wasn't a very good defender; Neilson obviously felt the same way or we wouldn't have sent him out on loan.

I liked him and still do and I reckon he would do better than a couple of those on offer yesterday!

Our capitain and vice captain, who incidentally are both defenders, are also both on the bench.

The Defence Collectively are shipping goals like there going out of fashiion. Blackburn 4, Bradford 4, Oldham 4, 2 extremely poor ones at Portsmouth which i was there to witness. This is clearly not good enough. Its not Just EEL who is defineitely not on his game at the minute. But the Defence as a Unit. Whatever RN's fortmation is at the back, the players are either not happy with it, suited to it or they are not good enough to play this system.

I would say it’s a bit and a big bit at that, of all of them.

I was at a loss in the first half which of the three was the spare man they all shouldn't have been marking but were so is the problem Cisse. In second half Walsh took care of Davies and he didn't look the same player and Wootton became the spare CB. That first half was down to lack of leadership on the pitch. Neilson seemed to address it at the beginning of the second half but their 4th goal was awful defending and I do wonder who was marking or supposed to be marking who having watched it a few times.
Without doubt we need a leader on the pitch in the defence somewhere and I don't give a hoot who it is but someone needs to take responsibility
