"We have a big stadium and we need to fill it. By playing attractive football, scoring a lot of goals and getting the connect between the players and fans, hopefully people will come back" - RN

Methinks there is somewhat of a mis-match between dreams and reality ?

A hundred years of football history clearly demonstrates the simple fact that teams that are winning will attract more fans, on average, than those playing 'attractive' football. If RN can demonstrate he is a 'winner' then the fans will turn up, and they won't if we can't consistently win at home. Personally I have absolutely no interest in him being nice to people, waving to fans and turning up to WI cake mornings. He has one job, namely to get us promotion and everything else is background noise. For me, he looks very much capable of being a winner and think we need to give him a chance to prove that till the end of the season and back him all the way to that point. There is nowt for coming second in life though, so he needs to be quickly dispatched in May 2018 if he doesn't succeed. As far as I'm concerned it is as simple as that.

I do not dispute the points you raise...but the catalyst behind this post was to demonstrate the gulf between what he is saying and what we are seeing on the pitch....and he has had a year, the season is well under way and I for one cannot see the promises of "attractive football with lots of goals" anytime soon. It's a bit too late for a Steve Maclaren-esque "we are treating these first 10 games or so almost like a pre-season friendly phase" !

Perhaps he recognises that there is a gap and 10 games into a season seems like a good time to have a review.

Is there anything untrue in his statement?

You could be forgiven for thinking someone has been reading the comments on here listening to some of the things he mentions.
