It's because I'm away most games so can't start them of course.

Seriously, other than the few people at the top of the Cowshed the atmosphere has always been pretty dire, it won't change drastically for generations

It's at a different level now Dippy, the quietest I've known it.

Think it's partly down to stay aways, partly down to those like Alby who have moved to the East Stand, and partly down to the fact we don't seem to have as many songs for players anymore.

Erm, no, it's because we are playing shite and there is nothing to sing about or get excited about and fans are staying away because of this.

Perhaps it's a part, but I always used to try when we played awfully as well as well. It's lots of different reason but I'd agree the root of it is the boring, unaffective football

And when he comes back from injury...as we are surely missing his services...this one for Peter Pawlett

Anybody that was at Pompey will tell you that the atmosphere from our fans was superb for most of the game, simply because we are all sat together.
Songs for loads of the players, nearly all in fact.
If you want atmos at home, rather than scatter fans all around a stadium, they need to be together to create something and with the dwindling support it's only going to get worse.

Prefer Joy Division's version.

We seem to do this atmosphere thread fairly often...

I do agree though it is really poor ATM. The bulk of the singing comes from aisle 12 but they seem very downbeat right now and that in turn shuts down the little pockets of singers elsewhere (like my small chorus between 14 & 15). I don't see it improving anytime soon.
