He's kept us in most games this season so far, yes he'll make mistakes but every keeper will. No keeper is perfect, even De Gea conceded 9 goals in 3 games in 14/15, 4 against us.

Very pleasantly surprised with Lee Nichols this season...didn't want to see Dave Martin go as I considered him the better keeper, but very happy to be proved wrong. Lee has been superior to Dave in particular in his command of the area and distribution. A young keeper who has already made considerable progress since joining the club...another astute signing by Robbo summer 2016, along with Chucks and George.

Nicholls is a quality keeper and has been our player of the season so far in my mind

Agreed, id go as far to say he's the best keeper in the league.

I cannot believe that people are saying he should have saved the second goal yesterday the deflection completely wrong footed him. Complete c..p. He actually kept us in the game with some fine saves. He talks a lot more than Martin his kicking is better and he is not afraid to bawl at his defence. I doubt he'll be playing at this level in 2/3 years time. (Unless we are in the Championship he will move on)

Criticising Nichols for yesterday is utter balls. He's as good a shot stopper as Martin was and commands his area more consistently. And though I've only seen home games, I can't recall an obvious handling error this season.

Statistically, he's definitely in the top 5 overall in terms of % of shots saved and clean sheets. I'd also go so far as to say he's in contention for the best keeper in the league so far this season.

Yep. He was set and facing correctly and the bl**dy thing took a big deflection.

Having watched the highlights again a few times, I do think he could have done a bit better for the second goal. He managed to get himself into the right position after, and it was the bounce that he misjudged. You can't tell me that no goalkeeper in the world couldn't have saved that.

Either way, he is a top keeper and our player of the season so far.

I've not seen anything of the Bradford game as I've been away, but for me Nicholls has been far better than Martin, he actually looks to command his area, comes for crosses and doesn't have that covering your face with fear thing, every time a ball is floated in.

If Martin was that good he would have been snapped up on a free
