Looking forward to this fixture. I well remember as Match Secretary for Aylesbury United we played FGR at their old ground The Lawn in a Southern League Midland Division game in 1984/5 season.. This was the first time the teams had met and as acting secretary I was relieved that the rest of the team were waiting at the Oxford rendevous. At 2.30 I presented mysely at the referee's room ready to exchange team sheets with my counterpart at FGR and the referee. I was aware of a colour clash as Aylesbury United also played in green so I had advised the kit man to bring our 2nd strip, all red. To my horror the FGR secretary immediately raised an objection saying there was a colour clash as they did indeed play in green shirts ans shorts but red hose. Ouch. The ref bless him asked his linesmen if they would have any problem iwith this amd I was mighity relived when they said none at all. Ironically they now wear green hose!

Didn't FGR used to wear Black and white stripes a few years ago?

Stockings.

They also used to wear a lemon in the belt back then as it was the fashion at the time.

Finding it ironic that further my earlier post when Aylesbury United had to wear their all red strip, I learn that for some reason Dons have to change on Saturday and will be wearing their red kit.

If the team have forgotten their kit then they should have to play in their vests and pants like everyone else had to
