It's a completely false comparison.
We can't afford Grigg now. But back then we could have but opted not to.

But if you only focus on one season of Grigg's career then we made the right call.

If you acknowledge all of his 20 goal plus seasons, then maybe we got it wrong.

He’s a class act, no denying that, would have loved to sign him, but bottom line on that fact is simply we couldn’t afford him, unfortunately

Before the meltdown happens about ‘missing out’ on him, two of his goals were very easy and the third he tried really hard to miss. Yes he had to be in the right position, but there should be no need for hyperbole.

I agree he’s a good player but it’s an academic discussion.

It's not just his costs, but the costs of giving everyone else on the team pay rises are we've completely smashed our normal wage structure as well. It was completely unsustainable.
