I don’t think Tickford or Cosgrove will ever happen, I know planning can be a painful process, but by now there should have been some progress.

Tickford has boundary issues which seem un resolvable, and Cosgrove just seems to be a dead duck.
Millions are tied up in these sites, maybe time to flog them off and search for somewhere more accommodating

If Crosgrove is a dead duck it ought to be buried. Seriously Crosgrove or Tickford could still be used to build a hotel with the training ground elsewhere.

The thing we need most is a training complex, we are first and foremost a football club, rather than a chain of hoteliers.

Football must come first, anything else that may provide an income is welcome, but we must get this training ground issue sorted ASAP

The whole training ground situation is a joke, how could we get to this position, bloody training should Have been sorted at the same time as the ground was built, really is so embarrassing, no let's have a ground that's miles too big, these modern grounds can be extended at any point if needed at a future time.
I now wait to get told I don't have a clue!
Using a school for a professional football clubs training is a farse, and we've pissed all the money down the drain, oh well maybe in thirty years it may get sorted!

As I stated earlier the club should look again at the Bowl / Furzton, but I doubt the club would get permission for a hotel as there is already a hotel in Furzton.

I think you may be confusing accommodation with hotel. There has to be the facility for youngsters to live in and be educated within the complex under EPPP level 2. Now, the most cost effective way of doing that may be to go into partnership with a hotelier, and commercially rent out a number of rooms in order to underwrite the whole venture, but that’s just being smart about it.

Unfortunately it seems at least one side of the training ground debacle doesn't possess that level of intelligence.

Embarassing for the club.

People would understand more if they just came out and said what the specific hold up was, the timescale for dealing with it and the options. No reason why they shouldn't be allowed to do that if it's just procedural.

The bowl site is nowhere near big enough,

In order to attain EPPP level 2 status we need 19 pitches (11 full size, plus mini pitches, 4G pitches and indoor pitches) as a minimum currently and then add the medical, gym, education and changing facilities and you’re not even close the the required land at the Bowl.

If we’re not going to try to get level 2 then Pete should just pack the whole thing in. It’s the only way we will ever stand a chance of being sustaianable.

There’s a lot of commercial sensitivity that dictates that Pete can’t be as open about the process as he wants to be, I’d say. What I’d like to know as a fan is who we can start lobbying? It’s got to that stage now and if some individual or body is strangling the project or putting unreasonabale objections in the way then let us know who they are and who they’re accountable to?

Anyone who went, how good was the turnout?

Pictures looked like forty or fifty or so.

I didn’t raise the issue about hotels, yes I realise accommodation is needed within the complex, it seems neither proposed site is currently acceptable, time to move on and find somewhere that is, we have to progress at a faster pace as this is now a complete mess

Which why I said Bowl / Furzton. I don't know if it can take 19 pitches (11 full size) but it might. Happy to do a tour if you like. :D
