Just seen Robbie buying a book in Waterstones, Midsummer Place.

Made me wonder, what his plans are now ? I was a bit surprised to see him still around, but maybe he will stay in the area for a while, waiting for his next job. As he would have had a nice pay-out etc to do that. I assumed he would have returned to Scotland (where I would have thought he has a house)

I resisted saying "you got in wrong on Lewie then" ;)

Wow!

a book, Robbie? :o

Seriously though, I knew he'd bought the house in MK. No surprise he hasn't moved back yet.

A big reason we've attracted some of the staff/players we have over the years is location. Proximity to the M1 and loads of great road connections mean that an awful lot of other football league jobs (for staff and players) are commutable if things go wrong or you come to the end of your contract. That's a big draw if you're mapping out your career.

Probably off to Costa.

His kids go to school here (same as Dan) which is probably keeping him here in the meanwhile.

His daughters are now at school in MK too, so uprooting them mid-school year would also be a consideration.

I know he would have got a reasonable payout, but I do feel a bit sorry for him. Having to pick up your life and move it a few hundred miles away for a job to only last a year. It was the right thing to do to part ways, but at the end of the day its still just a game to us, whereas it's a livelihood for them.

Still, they all know the risks and get paid well enough for it, and at the end of the day it is performance based.

Did you ask him to come back?

I would have done!
