Kingston average 86% of home capacity sold whereas it is 32% for us, with only Blackpool lower on 30.

One of our issues is that despite reasonable crowds, we haven't grown our fanbase in the city enough... over a quarter of a million people here and less than 10k.

It's easy to get 86%, when the ground only holds 5000. The fact remains we would be turning people away every match

I agree - I did make the point our support is far better than theirs at home.

The point is, an empty ground (however big or small) is an easier place to play away from home.

I once saw some stats showing the percentage of a town’s population that went to the football. Most averaged about 5%.

As for not growing the supporter base, I’d say that’s way off the truth. For example, we have gone from a standing start in 2003 of probably three or four thousand people even remotely interested in WFC/MKDons to nearly 90,000 twitter followers. That compares well with our league 1 contemporaries and local rivals (Oxford 67K, Luton 76K, AFC 57K (including all of the virtue signallers too!)).

Now that may say more about the demographic of our supporter base, but that’s the point. A young fanbase that will grow and grow.
