An independent observer who has charted the situation and histories of Wimbledon, MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon would rightly say that it is AFC who have come off the best so far.

They have come up the leagues, all the way up through the non-league system, and look set to stay in L1 whilst we get relegated.

It pains me greatly to concede this. But that is the brutal truth. And one conclusion for MKD is that despite given years of "head start" over AFC (in that we started in the league system), we have taken big steps backwards. Most of us like and support PW (I certainly do) - but again, independent people looking in our club would say that he and the board must take ultimate responsibility for where we are eg wrong choice of managers etc

Hate to say but I agree with that. Painful to admit when you consider the infinitely superior head start and resources we had. Question is why????

How can you say they have come off the best so far?

Look at our stadium. Look at our plans for the training ground. Look at our SET organisation and the charitable work.

They are ahead of us in the league at the moment - that's a very short term view.

Both teams are still just finding their level, if the same question was asked a few years ago people would have said we were the club who was on top, and in a few years time they'll probably say the same thing.

They have done well to get to where they are. But League One is notoriously difficult to get out of, so it is unfair to compare getting promoted from non-league divisions (some divisions have 3 auto spots and some really shit teams) with getting promoted from this league. If they claim it's equally as difficult, then I expect them to be promoted from League One in the next couple of years, otherwise it proves my point.

League One as you've seen this season has ex-Championship teams with multi-million pound budgets competing with teams with pennies. Whereas 99% of teams in non-league have similar budgets so more of a level playing field.

And as D50 says, we are miles ahead on everything else - a world class stadium (better than anything they build looking at the design/plans for it), academy system (have they produced a world class England international yet?), and a training ground on the horizon to rival Prem/Championship clubs.

I don't care what AFC do. Why should we compare our situation with them?

Because that's what the TCR trolls do.

I get all that dons50...and you could add to that list developing players like Dele, the successes we have had, the experiences (United etc etc)

But my point is solely on the fact that as things stand right now, we have certainly gone backwards when you consider in 2002 Wimbledon came to MK as a Championship team. And now we look very likely to be L2 again. My concern is if we languished in L2 for years, even go lower to the Conference ! Whereas, as much as we hate Kingston, any right-minded football fan would admit they have done extremely well to rise up the leagues and currently a better team than us, and give them respect for that.
