What happened to the initiative that we wouldn't moan at Dan for a year?

He has to work with what he has got, and change the style of play, the RN style wasn't working and yes we were a point from safety when Dan took over, but lets not forget we were sliding down the table.

And whilst we are at it, lets not forget that when we had Deli, Greig and the others, we only scrapped promotion on the last day of the season because Swindon blew it, else we would have been in the lottery of the playoffs.

Instant success only comes with huge costs, something this club can't afford, we have to either grow our own or load then from someone else (and they aren't going to give us their star players).

We need to get the training sorted as we are losing too many to training injuries and definately not buy or loan players that are injured or injury prone.

Good question..

Could it be linked to the arrival of a bunch of new Forum posters, who’ve done nothing but post about DM? ;)

Having a different opinion doesn’t make them wrong whether they are new or old. It’s nice to hear a different opinion than what we got on here last weekend after yet another defeat. Anyone looking in for the first time last weekend would’ve thought we were Real Madrid!

Look at the shit he has to pick from. Cant really blame him now. Shit rolls downwards. None of the players are playing for their jobs. its like they don't give a shit about a relegation on their CV.

Yep. And they will happily move on in due time, leaving the club and the fans well and truly cut adrift. Great isn't it ?

This is what annoys me about footballers. The managers get the blame for everything, but the players are never made to pay for being shit.

I am sure most of us if we were crap at our jobs would be fired and we wouldn't get a tidy compensation package that will go with the bloated salary I have picked up for the past year for doing fuck all. The best a football club can do is release them and pay compensation to the player that isn't good enough to be in that team.

I don't blame DM for any of this. Apart from not get a creative attacking player in the 8 days he had. Even if we do stay up they all need to hold their heads in shame. relying on Chucks and how he has been a little bit better than average is shocking and something that makes my blood boil.

We need points now. Not a long term thing. Fine to plan ahead, fine to be creative. But that's not the priority right now. At the moment we do not have players capable of getting us out of the hole we are in by playing out from the back. DM needs to look at where our chief problem lies. It's an inability to score. It's no good saying that we need better strikers. We haven't got 'em. So we have to do the best we can with what we have got, otherwise we are dead in the water.

He needs to play two up front. He needs to play the two good young wingers we have available. He needs to play to what strengths we have. Get the ball wide quickly and get these lads to run at the defence and bombard the opposition area with crosses. They can do it. Nesbitt is a great prospect and Tavernier is excellent for this level. They are quick and eager, so give them their heads. Stick Muirhead in the middle, he's tall enough to worry defences in the air and play Ugbo or Agard off him as they both have pace.

Oldham had over twice the number of shots that we had on Tuesday. That sums up our chief difficulty. At the moment we are in a sinking ship and instead of plugging the leaks we are worrying about the colour of the paint. For the moment, we need to concentrate on basic football, cut out the errors and play within our capabilities. Time to build for the future NEXT season, not this.

DM plans to become the first Dons manager to not win a single game in a season.

He would have only been with us half a season. Let him have a full season before you tar him with that brush

May be a pretty off point but Karl Robinson was a rookie manager at the end of the 09/10 campaign where he stood in and pretty much did what Micciche did. Lost games but had the lads playing a proper style again and playing out their skins trying their hardest. That “black and white army” chant that lasted for about 20 minutes at the end of the Brighton 0-0 game if anyone remembers was because the fans back then understood when a team was putting in effort and trying but just not quite getting it right. We drew 0-0 with a depleted squad and lost 2-1 to Walsall the next week. It wasn’t a good end to the season but there were signs. Robinson probably got away with it as it was the back end of the season but generally speaking that is similar. That next season he got his own players in, adapted a style and got us into the playoffs.

Not saying that DM will get that but let’s be fair, not many managers we could realistically get would’ve done any better with this squad.
