Once in a while I make a serious post  . Soz an all that. It's not my purpose on here. :ugeek:

It's been (yet another) 'heavy' couple of daze but before this evening's (vast amount of) Smirnoff kicks in I really do want to say that bitterly disappointed as I woz yesterday I thought Dean Lewington was immense.

The guy LED the whole time. We all know he's never had 'speed' in what he does but by gawd he knows what to do. PHYSICAL player who intimidates the opposition in a way I have never seen another Dons player do (more so than even Sean O/H or Danny S) and reads the game well. Some really good/clever touches yesterday. Some fantastic (corny but what else might I say?) and crucial tackles. Didn't he clear one off the line as well? And beautiful passes.

Met him twice - up the city centre - Both times happy to chat - once about 8 years ago when the junior ramones were around he was more than happy to have pics taken with them. Not a hint of 'I suppose I have to do this'.

He never gives up. Inspiration to the younger players. I'd imagine the Ugbos and Tavs of this world can see what a committed player he is and can learn what it means to be committed.

The guy has given his (working) life to MK Dons - sure there have been the odd F- ups like THAT handball but who can say they haven't done something similar in their own workplace? - and he is a wise head to have around. I really respect that. He could have gone elsewhere in his 'younger days' but didn't.

The more I think about it, the more I feel RN was an utterly misguided individual. Yeah yeah (as Joey Ramone would say) 'you have to stamp your authority on the players' but one would hope a positive working relationship with the captain would be a priority. It wasn't.

Whatever.... Dean is back. I didn't think he'd last the full 90 yesterday but he did. :D

Club legend and rightly so. I would cheerfully have given him MOM yesterday.

(I know its been a coupla weeks but) WELCOME BACK DEAN.

Right. Back to my usual nonsense on other threads.

It was his brilliant long pass up the wing that set up our goal.

I love watching Lewie. Hard left back, knows all the tricks. Reads the game well and more often than not finds the pass. Not much longer left though, enjoy while you can :D

No. Post more like this instead. ;)

One of our TCR members once posted that Lewington was ‘technically flawed’.
Which would make nearly every other player we’ve ever had ‘very technically flawed’.
That made me realise how much some fans watch but do not see.

Glad someone mentioned this. Classic Lewie. Same move nearly put Cisse away ten minutes later. God we’ve missed him.
