A back four?

Yes for most of the match. Lewie was clearly playing behind Tymon to me.

We played 5-1-3-1

Or 3-3-3-1, if you like. Same thing really.

Granted the Tymon came back into defence when needed and Lewie was a tad more defensive than usual, but the snapshot below shows a back four.

A giveaway is always who took the throw ins. The wingbacks took the throw ins.

Really, I thought it their position on the pitch.

Wow

Well anyway , I went to the game not on LSD and thought in spite of a difficult start (especialy Brittain) once the wingbacks got themselves together we played the better football.

I thought we were playing a back three, with wingbacks defending when Portsmouth were attacking.

But what the fuck do I know! Just been to an allotment meeting, then to the pub. Where there was an a cappella folk singing group in full flow. Kill me now.

I think you all believe we were playing wingbacks, so I accept that I'm in a minority of one. :D

There was no way we were playing a back three yesterday. There was a back four and our formation seemed to be fluid between 4 2 3 1 and 4 1 3 2
