Any news on Payne? I’ve seen rumours he will head elsewhere. With CLE now at the club I wonder if Mike doesn’t have a place for him in the starting lineup. A shame if so, as I do like him as a player.

For some reason I thought he’d be an obvious return. Even his Twitter sign off at the end of the season didn’t seem like he was done with us. Here’s hoping.

I'd very much like to see him stay.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Payne went back to Swindon

I imagine Payne wants a L1 club after all he has just left a L1 contract at Charlton and I imagine every L2 deal will be a pay cut which is hardly ideal for anyone let alone a player in his prime years.

He's one that I'd break the bank to get back. Give him a L1 level contract at MK, even if it means we can't spend on a different player as well. Use the youth squad to fill that position

He's got a decision to make. His last 2 league 1 spells (IIRC) haven't gone particularly well (Lincoln & Charlton) and he's realistically going to attract a Burton, a Northampton or a Stevenage of this world, which with all due respect are clubs clearly above us in the pyramid, but in my opinion will only realistically push for mid table consolidation in league one. I am not convinced any of them would trump us financially either. He's already had a pretty good 12 months here, and it appears to be very convenient for him (Lifts in and is close with Gilbey), so I think we have a lot going for us. That is presuming we'd want him back, which I think is a no brainer.

Seen a rumour of O’Hora to Swindon, although not sure how true that is.

If it is true, then no doubt he’ll become the world’s greatest CB. He’s a better player than Kemp and Devoy and we saw what Swindon did to them.

Would be quite a come down for a player who thought he was too good for L2.
