I've just watched 80's pop puppet Rick Astley doing a complete set of Smiths covers at Glastonbury, and not only was it note perfect, it was utterly fantastic. Made all the better when he stopped the gig halfway through for a Jägermeister break. He was obviously having the time of his life, as were Blossoms.

This Glasto has been pretty good. Young Fathers on friday were brilliant. Hate to have to say this, but so were Foo Fighters. They were really good. I endured Guns N' Roses for as much as I could take. Likewise Arctic Monkeys. But compared to old Rick they were all rubbish.

Who knew that all you needed in life was Rick Astley doing his best Moz?

Agreed - highlight of Glastonbury so far for me. When my daughter texted to say what he was doing I thought she was taking the pee, but watched it all and it was amazing.

Saw Young Fathers last weekend supporting Depeche Mode at Twickenham - started well but after a while they just blurred into one song. Must give them another proper listen.

Debbie Harry looks a bit different. Lots of energy for someone of 77.

Unless they did a set entirely consisting of Wonder Stuff covers I'm not interested.

For someone who thinks that he doesn't like old Elton, I find myself singing along to every song so far.

Unlike Macca and Rod the Mod, Elton could never sing very well. I say this as a massive Elton fan (aged 14). But he's learned to become a vocal stylist over the years and is still very good. Unlike many of his contemporaries who really need to check in to old people's homes.

It helps that him and Bernie wrote a shit-tonne of top chunes.
