I saw the band Ash play to a couple of thousand people at 2000 Trees Festival a few years back, I'm fairly certain they once headlined Glastonbury

Jim Bob was on Scroobius Pip's podcast last week and is still very much active, releasing solo albums to critical acclaim, if not commercial success. Fruitbat seems to have retired to count his money.

I guess in the end that every band that 'had success' or 'headlined' is doomed to fade.
The bands that do go on and on (albeit with personnel changes) e.g. Stones, Who, Floyd (Soz kids but that's my era) get labelled as 'old farts'. But it isn't going to be different for an 80s/90s band. Or any band.
You/they can't win.
But that's rock and roll.
And football.
