Sounds awesome. Hope they are as good as The Smyths.

Well they weren't. 'Hugh Reed' couldn't sing a note, and although 'Ian Curtis' sounded just like the real deal, his haircut ruined the whole evening. Think Gareth from The Office, but he's going bald. The drummer kept going out of time, and thought that he was in an Iron Maiden tribute. He liked to rock. We left during She's Lost Control when he actually had to stop to get back in time with the rest of the band.

You live and learn I suppose.

Mrs Soze reminded me of this last night, once we got back, when she looked at Book Face. I was a little jealous that I wasn't there. Now? Not so much.

It was dreadful. The Current Mrs' Gers was bored senseless. I kept saying this is what they're like. She only knows the 'hits', not side two of Closer.

Not a gig as such but we had Shaun Ryder from Happy Mondays going an 'evening with' / Q&A sort of event. Top bloke, brilliantly funny.

Again, not quite a gig in the more traditional sense but I went to the Sunday Sessions at The Stables yesterday morning to see the Paul Higgs quartet

A wonderful way to spend a couple of hours over coffee enjoying two sets of trumpet music - one highlighting Clifford Brown, the second featuring Blue Mitchell's work - an insane amount of talent on show

I've only just found out about the Sunday Sessions, but this it's definitely something I'll do again in the new year

A couple at the MK Theater. Both in March, Stewart Lee and Danny Baker.
