I met him once in a pub called Y Mochyn Du (The Black Pig) in Cardiff during the Rugby World Cup in 1999.
He came over to chat with the group of us (we were on a lunch break, fitting out hospitality marquees on the site).
Initially we all just thought he was an annoying local who liked to talk to complete strangers,
He pointed out a portrait of himself hanging on the wall and it was at that point that I realised who he was. Nobody else in my group had ever heard of him as they weren't into rugby unlike myself.
He was very proud of his achievements but I got the feeling he was pretty lonely. We had a good chat then it was back to work where I left him to talk to whoever else he could find.
