Watching Sunderland Vs Newcastle. Atmosphere looks great

Have to say the clash of kits with vertical stripes each is a problem surely ?

I'm watching a Mercedes-Benz U19 tournament on their website - at least I am when it's Man United's match (they play 4 short games today!)

However, I find the use of 2nd and 3rd kits very sporadic, and often makes no sense other than for marketing as they sometimes make more of a clash by unnecessarily changing, and other times don't change when there's a definite clash of home kits.

Do they usually change kits when they have the big North East Derby, or is it a traditional / tribal thing to wear their distinctive colours despite the clash?

Usually one or the other have a bolder base colour (black or red, duh) than prominently white. This time around they're both quite boldly white, especially with Newcastle's shorts so stands out more here.

Must say, what a game
No VAR. Tackles flying. No moaning, getting on with the game and it was what we used to love about football.
Sunderland let themselves down. Gaffer fucked it for them

Thanks for that, Alby. That was a tricky thing to describe but you made it very clear (unlike the kits, apparently!)

Newcastle's away kit is also Saudi green - so the kit clash would've been awful for colour blind people.

Though they have a navy away top so no excuse

I'm watching Match Of The Day now. Every goal was outstanding. Especially City's first from Silva, and Gordon from Newcastle, whom I really beginning to like. Certainly looked like a great game.

WBA v Southampton

Currently Saints 2 - 0 up, what I am seeing is a better, more polished MK Dons style of play, russball and mikeball are pretty indistinguishable, very similar patterns of play and yes, Southampton do also make mistakes playing out from the back, but they are great to watch, I can only hope we can progress and emulate their success at nailing this system of play

It works better higher up the leagues because the players are more skillful.

Watching Chelsea v Leeds. That Leeds kit is fucking abysmal.
