THE CONCRETE ROUNDABOUT (TCR)

For those of us who have sons/daughters with aspirations of getting into a football club academy this documentary should be of some interest. Due to be aired on S4C on Tuesday 21st June 9pm, (don't worry English subtitles are available), Bois yr Academi focuses on three young lads and their families, and how being in the Swansea City academy affects their lives.

Most pessimistic poster - 2020

No not really. It featured three lads, one was 15 playing in Swansea under 18s academy, one was 14 maybe who had had a ball hit him in the face and was off for two weeks with concussion and one was a goalkeeper, 12 I think. The goalie got rejected afer being with Swansea for a few years, the other two lads lived to fight another day. Nothing in-depth, just a brief snapshot of life in an academy. You didn't miss much.

Ah shame really, as a show like that has potential to be good and show what it’s actually like.
