Now I don't suppose this will resonate with many on here but I genuinely feel sorry for their supporters. That is one hell of a way to miss out on automatic promotion, you couldn't make it up. 3-1 up against Barrow, Bristol Rovers needing to better their goal difference by 5. Went on to win 7-0. That is harsh.

Missed out on autos by a single goal, on the last game of the season even though they won 3-1. That can’t have happened many times in the past?

Can’t think of a worst way to miss out. Brutal for them.

They ended up equal on goal difference, but Rovers had scored more goals over the course of the season. I honestly don't see how that makes them more deserving of promotion. Yes they had a better attack, but Cobblers had a better defence.

Yeah thats what I mean. A goal swing either way and Northampton were up.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a bit more if an investigation than usual on that game though. Sure it was a genuine 7-0 win but does seem a little dodgy.

Something fishy about this, Scunthorpe field a virtual academy side, with a 17 year old in goal.

They knew Bristol Rovers had a chance of automatic promotion and fielded a bunch of kids

If I was a cobblers fan I’d want this looking into, doesn’t seem at all fair

Where's Inspector Gadget these days, we need his view on things.

Absolutely - great shame for the Wobblers, that must sting

Fingers crossed for them they can navigate the play offs starting with our old friends Mansfield

I have to say, OK there might have been shenanigans but......all the invective we have faced from them previously online and elsewhere ...all their 'faux hardman' attitude/comments as me and the Junior Ramones we faced in the past after parking in some dodgy ghetto and walking to the (Where Did The Ten Million Go?) stadium with accompanying abuse.
Nah. Don't much care.

Please stop looking for things that are not there. Since Scunny's relegation they have been fielding the youth team players cause that is all they will have next season. Their average age for their game against Hartlepool was 20 and they drew that 1 all. Bristol did what they needed to do. Plus yesterday they still had 4 players in the 11 over 21 so it wasn't a full youth team.

Also, I doubt any cobblers would care if it happens to us. So fuck em! Rather have Mansfield or Port Vale up than them or swindon

Indeed. The first quote I found on their forum was basically 'there are only two clubs I want to go bust now - MKDons and Scunthorpe'
