Great draw for us.

We haven’t lost a game in 2021 or 2022 (except on penalties). We’ve got a very strong squad and depth too - particularly in attacking positions.

It’s absolutely brilliant to be looking forward to England playing in major tournaments under this manager.

Great draw on balance. If I understand it right, we play Wales/Scotland/Ukraine last - so hopefully by then we are both through and the pressure is off.

I scoffed when I saw Jenas walk out to do the draw - I mean, the guy isn't even top billing in his own home, let alone the international stage! But credit to him - I think he did a great job.

I don't get the whole thing about moving teams around to avoid clashes though. Just let the draw do its thing! So what if there is one group of Europeans or two CONCACAF teams play each-other etc? New Zealand or Costa Rica (?) were pulled out as our fourth team which would have made it the draw from heaven!

This.

Obvs, we're going to win it too. 8-)

And I was wrong about Southgate - I thought he was the polite, safe choice. But he has a way he wants to play and the balls to stick with his plan. He will drop big names but he'll also keep faith in his men through tough periods. Fair play to the guy. Lord Southgate has a nice ring to it.

I’m genuinely buzzing, and the Iran game being on Monday @ 1pm is barely denying that excitement.

Just in case some haven’t seen, this is the schedule UK time:
Iran - Monday 21st November 1pm
USA - Friday 25th November 7pm
Wales/Scotland/Ukraine - Tuesday 29th November 7pm

Couldn't have been any better really could it?

Group B, so we play on the very first day of the tournament (can't remember the last time we had an opening day fixture of a major tournament). Iran, USA and Scotland/Wales/Ukraine won't be pushovers but we will still comfortably make it out the group.

Only down side is we're likely to play Argentina or France in the quarter-finals which has heartbreak written all over it.

Can't wait though, looking forward to it very much.
