I see a curfew is being considered to keep them out of trouble. I thought it was footballers that got into fights in night clubs. Standards are slipping.

David Warner punched Joe Root 4 years ago. So not a very recent thing. And if we look back further, to Botham and co.; well, maybe a veil should be drawn...

Denis Compton turning up at Lord's in his dinner jacket not having slept, grabbing a borrowed bat and scoring a hundred.

Sportsman reacting when goaded by a drunk fan shock.

Let the police do their job and the sportsmen do their job. I wouldn't expect to be sacked for something that happens outside of work.

Think you'll find it would depend on the incident and your employer, a lot of of companies nowadays won't tolerate certain things. Getting back to your comments regarding being "goaded by a drunk fan " the footage I saw only seemed to incriminate one person, the person or people he attacked were all backing off, hands up clearly sending out a message they wanted no trouble. If that was me I would be prosecuted for it, the job I was doing I needed the DBS (or whatever they call it now)clearance. I would probably have had my contract terminated if that was the case.
