I’ll probably change this as there’s so many great players I’ve left out but here’s my first go: 1.Barry Richards 2.Greenidge 3.Viv Richards 4.Gower 5.Kallis 6.Border 7.Gilchrist 8.Marshall 9.Warne 10.Holding 11.Lillee Lara and Tendulkar should really be in for Gower and Border but those two are personal favourites. One was the ultimate flair player who made batting look so easy, the other, so gritty and determined, carried a poor Australian side and still averaged 56 in test cricket. |

My 11, made up of only English players: Cook Trescothick Hick Pietersen Thorpe Flintoff Botham Prior Swann Broad Anderson I know not many people will agree with Hick, but I'm a Worcestershire guy, and that man was a hero of mine when I was growing up. It was always an absolute pleasure to watch him batting at New Road Worcester. I personally think he was unlucky in international cricket to have played during the 90's. He is the kind of batsman who would have flourished in the set up since the early 2000's where we have seen players like Ian Bell struggle at first in Test cricket, but go on to show everyone just how good they are - and how many chances has Keaton Jennings been given? |

Favourite England players I have watched (Test team) Trescothick Gooch Root Pietersen Thorpe Flintoff Russell Swann S Jones Gough Harmison Wanted to find a spot for Devon Malcolm just for the 9 for 57 against South Africa - no place for players who may have even better but weren’t favourites of mine Broad, Anderson & Stewart in particular. |

S Jones being Simon? God he was great to watch. Such a shame to have been injured so young. |

His big-hitting batting style was erratic, but entertaining to watch for however long it lasted. And his attacking leg spin bowling also made for good viewing and often led to both wickets and runs in one-dayers. Javed Miandad - horrible bloke but brilliant cricketer Waqar Younis Imran Khan Inzamam Ul Haq You already had Wasim Akram. |
