This kid can't be human. Every time you watch him play, you know what's coming but can't help being absolutely astonished by how good he is.

Witnessing a goat in the making there! Astonishing, effortless darts! I so hope he meets humphries in the final, one of sports genuine good guys!

Looks like you're getting your wish. Humphries has been brilliant so far. Currently 4-0 up

Not a fan of darts, but I was flicking between the West Ham game and the darts last night, and when it was obvious that the football was shit I stayed on the darts. He's quite something for a 16yr old I'll give you that. Nothing phased him, he quite simply rolled over the other guy. I'll certainly be watching today, if I can remember that is.

If he carries on in this fashion, he'd certainly deserve it!

A nomination is quite likely, though I wouldn't be putting any money on him being named SPOTY - Darts (and Snooker) have a stigma about them which means even Phil The Power Taylor or Ronnie O'Sullivan have never been named it. And a look at the last few years highlights who award shows nowadays are looking to give them to when they're just 'named' not definitively 'won'.

So he'll have those couple of big extra obstacles to overcome before being on an even playing field. But if anyone could overcome it, then his age and the 'feel good factor' it seems to have generated will help (though, timing wise, it's so long before the next one is named that he'd probably have to keep achieving more later in the year not to be overtaken by the next 'feel good' story).

And lose your house SPOTY is a public vote he will long have drifted from the average persons attention by December and he will be competing with people who have performed in the following events...
The European football championships
The Paris Olympics and Paralympics
Potentially Fury vs AJ
Twenty20 cricket world cup
Could Hamilton have a comeback F1 win?
Could a Brit surprise at a golf Major, Wimbledon etc?

Yeah, I can't see Littler winning SPOTY in an Olympic year.

Very good chance for Young SPOTY, though.
