One poor guy, Jamie Foster has lost 5-0 both days with an average of 36.

£500 to enter and he's paid up to £400 for the honour of staying at Castle Greyskull Winkelman for 4 nights. To then be soundly trounced by county players.

I would hope he only booked 2 nights tbh.

I think I could average more than 36 with my eyes shut, and I'm shit at darts!

I had a go at trying to play darts about a year ago, just going to the pub to practice with a mate about once a week. Stopped in the end because I don't have the time to devote to it properly. And I'm crap at it.

On a good day, I was averaging about 30. Now I know I'm almost at Q School standard, I don't feel so bad about it now.

Mr Foster today averaged 40, but still lost 5-0. His oppo averaged around 80.

The MK Don went out in round 2.

Owning Darts and a dartboard more for fun during boredom than skill, I am going to throw 20 legs of 501 (double to finish) and see what I average, as well as recording the first 9 darts to see their average. I reckon the 9 dart average will be 60-ish, but to average 40 with the finishing I will be more than happy. haha

Leighton Bennett got through today. Some will know him from winning a BDO event when he was 12.

He's 18 now.

He and Keane Barry have both been touted as future stars for so long that I've got it in my head that they're at least 25 by now.

Most “proper” darts players aim to finish on double 1, throwing fifteen darts at it before giving up and going to the bar

All you need is a good nickname

I worked beside someone years ago who was a semi-pro darts player, and he was really good at it. He point blank refused to tell us his nickname. Eventually he told someone... Pete 'The Fossil' Stockley.

The best I've heard was for Owen Bates, who qualified for the PDC world championships in December - https://youtu.be/NQAz4iXpeaU?si=WzQwfwDgVk7MuB3d

Walked into Connor Scutt today sadly, who trounced him 6-0. Bit of a tough start.

Sherrock also out in Last 128.

Some significant names at the Arena playing today, Richie Burnett, Ted Evetts, Scott Mitchell, Steve Lennon, Scott Waites, Demolition Darren Webster and of course Part got through.

Dancing Devon Petersen too!

Shows just how tough the tour is these days to see some of those at Q school. Part and Burnett are obviously at the end of their playing careers, and probably Webster too, but Evetts, Mitchell, Lennon, Waites and Peterson are good players
